Opening hours

The Reading Room is open on
    Monday from 10:00 till 17:00
    Tuesday till Friday from 9:00 till 17:00.
The Institute is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
The building is accessible for wheel chairs users.

How to get there

Public transport:

From Amsterdam Central Station: bus 22, bus stop Veelaan.
From Amsterdam Station Zuid: bus 65, bus stop Veelaan.
From Amsterdam Station Muiderpoort: bus 22, bus stop Veelaan or walk (15 minutes walking distance; head east on Insulindeweg and go left on the large crossing with traffic lights. You are now on Molukkenstraat/Veelaan which leads directly to the IISH).
From the centre of Amsterdam: tram 7 to Molukkenstraat (10 minutes walking distance), tram 10 to Van Eesterenlaan (5 to 10 minutes walking distance), tram 14 to Javaplein (5 to 10 minutes walking distance).

By car:

From the circular road (A10) take the junction Zeeburg (S114), proceed to the traffic lights, and follow the signs Zeeburg into the tunnel (Piet Hein-tunnel). At the end of the tunnel go left at traffic lights. Take second road to your left (Cruquiusweg). Proceed to the end of the road, where it takes a right turn. The IISH is the large grey building on your left. Attention, there is only paid parking space near the IISH!
