Daniëlle Teeuwen

Daniëlle Teeuwen (1985) studied early modern history at Utrecht University. She graduated in 2007 and wrote her master's thesis on the reorganization of poor relief in Utrecht in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. After her graduation she worked among others as a research assistant for the University of Cambridge and as a project assistant at the Utrecht Archives.
She is currently working at the IISH as a PhD student in the NWO-funded project Giving in the Golden Age, investigating which people gave to charity, how much they gave, and what were their motivations to give. She hereby focuses on small-scale giving, such as donations made to church offertories and door-to-door collections. The PhD project is supervised by Prof. dr Lex Heerma van Voss, Prof. dr Marco van Leeuwen and dr Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk.
