Cleomene Aridjis migrated from Greece to the Netherlands in the 1920's and found work in a cigarette factory in Bilthoven. But this job was not rewarding for the audacious Aridjis. With a 625 liter barrel of wine from Samos, bottles, corks, labels and wallpaper paste he started a wine bottling plant. From 1926 until 1984, the very successful Dutch-Greek firm Aridjis traded wine, lemon concentrate and eggnog. Aridjis' was very much a family business: his consecutive children were all pictured on its products' labels. Aridjis and his family attended the ROKA Foods Fair in the Utrecht Exhibition Center from 4 - 7 October 1960.
